The debate for quality backlinks over quantity of backlinks
18 Oct
As many webmasters may tell you, ranking in the top 10 search results of Google for your chosen keyword is the dream of many internet marketers and other website owners. However, many sites simply perform what is termed on-page SEO, without considering the aspects of off-page SEO. In particular, backlinks and the quality of such backlinks is what are deemed to be extremely important in the ranking of any website. Most site owners usually obtain hundreds, if not thousands, of spammy and low quality links, and expect to be ranked based on the sheer volume of sites linking to their own site. However, it has been proven time and again that a few quality backlinks to a site, that are niche specific, will provide far more value than a few hundred spammy links. The problem with most webmasters is that they struggle when it comes to obtaining those quality backlinks, and more so when they are looking for niche specific links. To get around these obstacles, some website owners will buy backlinks on a site related to their own niche, and in so doing obtain a quality backlink back to their own site. The truth is really that the cost of these backlinks is minimal compared to the value obtained from high search rankings that result from obtaining high quality backlinks. There are a lot of SEO companies that will promise you that they can obtain and build thousands and thousands of links quickly to your site, but the problem is that most of these links will never get indexed, and so add little value to your backlinking strategy.
